Titanium Dioxide In Cosmetics-Does M&M’S Have Titanium Dioxide

Does M&M'S Have Titanium Dioxide

As of my last update, M&M’S candies did contain titanium dioxide, which is a common food additive used as a whitening agent in many products. It’s listed on the ingredient labels as E171 in Europe or simply as titanium dioxide elsewhere.

However, it’s important to note that the use of titanium dioxide in foods has been subject to debate and regulatory changes. For instance, in 2020, the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) raised concerns about the potential risks of titanium dioxide nanoparticles and recommended further studies. Following this, the European Commission proposed to ban the use of titanium dioxide as a food additive, which was still under consideration as of my last update.

Therefore, the presence of titanium dioxide in M&M’S or any other product may change due to regulatory decisions or company formulations. To get the most current information, you should check the ingredient list on the packaging or contact the manufacturer directly.
