Titanium Dioxide Sunblock-Does Sour Patch Have Titanium Dioxide
As of my last update, Titanium Dioxide (TiO2) has been used in various food products, including some candies, as a whitening agent or to give a bright white color. It’s commonly listed as an ingredient in the form of E171 on food labels in some countries.
However, in response to health concerns and consumer pressure, many food manufacturers have been moving away from using Titanium Dioxide in food products. For example, in 2020, Mondelez International, the company that owns the Sour Patch brand, announced plans to remove Titanium Dioxide from its products, including Sour Patch Kids, due to these concerns.
To know if a specific batch of Sour Patch Kids or other Sour Patch products contains Titanium Dioxide, you would need to check the ingredient list on the packaging. If you have a package on hand, look for “Titanium Dioxide” or “E171” in the list of ingredients. If you are purchasing the product, you can also check the ingredient list online through the manufacturer’s website or other product information platforms.
Please note that regulations and formulations can change, so it’s always best to check the most current product information.
